U10's Elton and Walshaw Panthers 2 Ladybridge Lightning 2 (BBDJSL “A”)

 

          This was another one which got away, well at least half of it! The conditions were good but Lightning seemed to have some end of season

jitters.

 

Panthers scored from their first attack.(1-0) Lightning had the bulk of the meaningful position. Jack, Will and Gareth were playing the games

decisive passes in midfield. It was no surprise when Will lead a two on one

break and put Sam in on goal. His shot across the keeper went in off the far post.(1-1)

Lightning were in the ascendancy for most of the second half. Harry, Liam

and Joseph played excellently in defense and Panthers threatened only occasionally.

 

Lightning won a free kick when the ref should have played advantage. Justice was done as Sam scrambled the ball in at the far post after it was not

effectively cleared from Harry’s free kick.(1-2) Josh combined with Sam

several times but the winning goal just would not come. With five minutes to

go Panther’s free kick sailed over all the heads in the box and was

inadvertently deflected back into the center of the goalmouth and in by an unlucky Ladybridge player.

 

Somehow the ball ended up in the net.(2-2)
